5/22/2002:

This conversation actually happened. Eating my shoe did not.

I got a job! It's at internalDrive and I'll be working this July and a bit of August at Northwestern as lead instructor. I'm pretty excited that I don't have to wait tables or beg for change. The plan so far is to do this for the summer, build up cash and then coast until the Apple Store on Michigan Ave opens up and I can apply to be a Genius. Anyway, I'm required to know both CPR and First Aid for the job, so I signed up for classes today. I figure it's a good thing to know.

I found this site linked from the New Adventures of Bobbin. Now, for those of you who don't know, "talking cock" isn't an antropomorphization of genitalia. It means "talking smack." Look at the movie trailer! Makes me miss visiting Singapore. Last time I was there was when I got my DDR mat. Last year, I lived in a suite with a group of Singaporeans and I have to say, there is a shared national sense of humor. It's quite unique.

Today's song is Peter Salett's Heart of Mine off the Keeping the Faith soundtrack.

Do you want to know
If everything glittering
Will turn into the gold
I see in your hair
I feel it could be there
Somehow, tonight

And do you want to find
Something worth saving
The change would do me right
Cause i've been just waiting
And hesitating
With this heart of mine

You're still a mystery
But there's something so easy
In how you're sweet to me
I feel completed
Like it's something I needed
For this heart of mine

There's always something so tragic
About a hopeless romantic

So though we cannot know
If everything glittering
Will turn into the gold
I'm through with waiting
And hesitating
I want you taking
This heart of mine
Heart of mine
Heart of mine
