Gwyneth
To understand what happened with Gwyneth, there's some background info you need. But I personally find such stories boring. Is that sufficiently pretentious in a Holden Caulfield sort of way? Let's just go straight into it. Background will fall out along the wayside. I hope.
I'm listening to "Hero of the Day" by Metallica right now. It's the only song of Metallica I like, much to my roommate's relief. This was written in 99, back when I still had a roommate. But I do play it sometimes because it reminds me of the lengths I've gone to become different for a girl, not that different but different enough. Because once you start on that path, you find that each new girl changes you a bit more until you can't really separate what you are from what you were and what you could have been if they hadn't been there. And that's sad when you're in the self doubt slow spiral that I find myself in every time that girl up and leaves and I'm stuck with someone I don't like as myself.
Go Metallica...

...the most amazing thing about her would have to be her eyes.
Junior year theater: the plays were Bamboozled!, Henry the VII, part 6, and Subterranean Homesick Blues Again. Wacky. Anyway, I was in the first two. I remember one night, coming out of the dressing room after they were over. What a rush; there's nothing quite like it. Anyway, I see my pal Jon Shuit (we were friends then… but that tale's part of Alyson's story, not this one. At this time, we were friends.) talking to a really pretty girl.
This girl's brunette. She's thin. But the most amazing thing about her would have to be her eyes. They light up when she laughs which is often. But I just chalk all this up to the fact that I'm feeling theater rush and I haven't dated anyone in a long time. And I'm not the sort of asshole to cut down on Jon's mack. So I leave them and find another friend (gaaa, China's story. This is going to take forever.) and talk to her, indulging my adolescent male flirting instincts there. Even though she's dating someone else. But that's a vastly different story.
